Who we are
"Don’t Take Yourself So Damn Seriously!"
Welcome to our group, where we believe recovery and healing can (and should) be a good time! In our SA Partners group, we’ve adopted the spirit of Rule 62 from AA: "Don’t take yourself so damn seriously." This simple reminder encourages us to:
Enjoy the journey, even through the challenges
Keep things light and find humor in life
Focus on the little moments that matter
Practice forgiveness, both for ourselves and others
Accept that we all have flaws and make mistakes—it’s part of being human
Embrace gratitude for progress, no matter how small
We’re here to support each other, and sometimes that means taking a deep breath, laughing a little, and remembering that we don’t have to be perfect!
Our Focus: Recovery and Healing, Not Formalities
The purpose of this meeting is to support each other in recovery by sharing the SAnon messages. We believe real healing happens when one person talks to another—it’s the heart and soul of recovery, or as we like to call it, the “back to basics.”
In many meetings, the opening and closing scripts can take up 20-30 minutes, leaving little time for meaningful connection. Here, we cut the formalities short so we can dive right into the conversation that really matters.
We also want this to be a welcoming, safe space for every partner, regardless of what she or he believes. Whether you connect with the concept of God, a Higher Power, or prefer to focus on spirituality in your own way—or not at all—this group is for you. That’s why we keep our opening and closing scripts brief and choose not to open or close with prayers, making sure everyone feels comfortable and included.
How We Make Decisions
Our group relies on a steering committee and the group's collective conscience to make important decisions.
No Fees, No Pressure
Good news—there are no dues or fees to be part of this group! One of our generous members covered the costs for the website, hosting, and Zoom meetings, so we’re all set for now. If you feel inspired to chip in, you can donate directly to SAnon or COSA—but no pressure, it's totally up to you! We might ask for donations down the road, but for now, we’ve got it covered.
